Supporting internally promoted professionals

Building on existing strengths and successes, coaching helps navigate the often uncomfortable growth zone in the first year of career advancement or transition.

What challenges do newly promoted professionals face?

  • Letting go of the safety and familiarity of the previous role

  • Establishing credibility in the new role

  • Balancing operational delivery with strategy

  • Building relationships and learning to influence at a more senior level

  • Planning, prioritising and organising new workload

  • Strong urge to prove oneself as independent and capable - often not asking for support

  • Confidence naturally dips in the growth zone

  • Negative self-talk can slow down progress and drain energy

How can coaching help through this transition?

  • Appreciate what is going well and build on this even further.

  • Explore doubts and manage the natural dip in confidence

  • Allows progress - decision making paralysis can block team progress

  • Plan, organise and prioritise for both strategic and reactive tasks

  • Reduce overwhelm in the growth zone

The result is an employee who is able to contribute at the level their new role requires - which benefits the individual performance, their team, and the wider organisation's goals.

Client testimonials

‘‘I started coaching to support my transition into a more senior role. I found Lenka, and coaching, to be a great tool to increase my confidence in my own ability, especially at a time that involved lots of uncomfortable growth and new scenarios. She encouraged me to use 'data' to challenge negative thoughts and emotions. This has meant I can focus on the small steps towards my goal rather than being perfect’’

‘‘Following my internal promotion, Lenka created a safe, open space and was able to dial the coaching to suit exactly what I needed at different times. To help with my ADHD challenges, we explored practical techniques to boost my motivation and follow through on tasks, which made a real difference in how I approach my work.''
